PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – MARCH 24: Buildings stand in the neighborhood where the West Kensington Ministry operates a food pantry supported by the non-profit Small Things on March 24, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Small Things, which was founded by Pastor Vito Baldini, a former heroin addict, distributes over 3 million pounds of food per year from its warehouse to area churches, food pantries, shelters and other places of need. The non-profit has witnessed a surge in the need for food during the coronavirus pandemic and its toll on the area’s economy in a city where 1 in 4 families live below the official poverty line.
